After the US Open, the players on the ATP and WTA tours turn their attention to Asia for some of the game's most prestigious events outside of the Grand Slams.

And from Tokyo to Wuhan to Shanghai, some of those players have made their presence felt more than others at those tournaments.

Here's five of the best performers over the years.

1

Novak Djokovic

The former world No. 1 is forced to sit out a stretch of the season he’s consistently played well in due to injury. He’s a three-time Shanghai Masters winner and a six-time titlist at the China Open, with his most recent victory coming in 2015 over Rafael Nadal.

2

Caroline Wozniacki

Seventh time was the charm for Wozniacki in 2017 when it came to tournament finals. She won her first title of the year at the Toray Pan Pacific Open, which she captured for the third time overall.

3

Andy Murray

Murray’s ascent to No. 1 last year was built upon the foundation of a four-tournament winning streak in the fall, which included his first China Open title and third Shanghai Masters. Yes, he's out like Djokovic this fall, but that doesn't discredit his past success.

4

Petra Kvitova

From 2013 to 2016, the Czech captured at least one title during the Asia Swing. Last year, the two-time Wimbledon champion beat Dominika Cibulkova for the Wuhan Open championship.

5

Tomas Berdych

The Czech’s first hard-court title came at the Japan Open in 2008. Last year, Berdych was forced to miss the US Open due to surgery. He returned to action at the Shenzhen Open, and defended his title.
