Stone plays Billie Jean King in the upcoming Battle of the Sexes

Sloane Stephens won the battle for the US Open crown on Saturday, and got to meet with Battle of the Sexes star Emma Stone right after her victory over Madison Keys. Stone plays Billie Jean King in the upcoming film, which centers on the historic 1973 match between King and Bobbie Riggs.

King was the first female athlete to win $100,000. This year, both the men's and women's US Open champions received $3.7 million.

"Just like when we got equal prize money at the majors," King told Mary Carillo. "It's about the message, not even the money."
