Presenting your daily look at the doubles action at the US Open.

The first champions of the tournament were crowned yesterday as Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau won the men’s title over Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez. Today, two more teams attempt to join them, with one player doing double duty.

Martina Hingis is in the finals of the women’s and mixed events. On Friday, she and her partner Yung-Jan Chan defeated Sania Mirza and Shuai Peng to reach their first Grand Slam championship match together. They’ll face Katerina Siniakova and Lucie Hradecka, who beat their countrywomen Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova in a match that had some controversy.

In the mixed doubles, Hingis and Jamie Murray topped CoCo Vandeweghe and Tecau and will play Hao-Ching Chan and Michael Venus in the final on Saturday. This is the second time this tournament Hingis will be facing off against her partner’s sister.

Here’s more insight into the matches on tap.

Hingis/Murray (1) vs. Chan/Venus (3)

On Saturday, Hingis and Murray, two former world No. 1s in doubles, are experts in the mixed doubles category and are playing for their second Grand Slam title in a row after Wimbledon.

Hingis/Chan (2) vs. Siniakova/Hradecka (7)

On Sunday, Siniakova, 21, will find herself on court facing a team that’s had one of the best debut seasons together in recent years. Luckily for her, she’s partnered with a two-time Grand Slam champion in women’s doubles who won’t be intimidated by the occasion. This is the final opportunity for Hingis and Chan to cap off their near-perfect campaign and the two will have extra motivation to secure a major to solidify their place on tour.
