Hurricane Irma is set to make landfall in Miami, and it’s bigger and badder than anything the south Florida coast has seen this century. While a slew of the pros are still in New York City, some have returned to their training grounds, like Francesca Schiavone.

The Italian is in Miami, and she’s showing her followers what the preparation for the hurricane looks like from a first-person point of view. Basically, it looks bleak.

Venus Williams, who resides in Palm Beach Gardens, was busy reaching the semifinals this week, but will turn her attention homeward.

"I haven't watched Irma closely, but perhaps I should know more," she said. "I have a lot of family and important people in Florida, and my whole life is there. I need to understand what's happening, for sure."

The pros are used to battling with their opponents, not with gale-force winds. So here’s hoping they all stay safe this weekend.
