Spanish tennis is in the spotlight because, come Monday, Rafael Nadal and Garbine Muguruza will both be world No. 1's. The same country hasn't claimed the ATP and WTA ranking top spots since 2003 (Andre Agassi and Serena Williams).

Nadal was No. 1 entering the US Open, and with Roger Federer falling in the quarterfinals, he's guaranteed to stay there. Muguruza lost in the fourth round this fortnight, but becomes No. 1 for the first time in her career thanks to Karolina Pliskova losing in the quarterfinals.

Nadal is set to take on Juan Martin del Potro in the semifinals on Friday.
