Serena Williams gave birth to a baby girl on Friday, and her coach Patrick Mourtaglou is ready to get to work. The Frenchman, of course, first congratulated the 35-year-old new mom.

The father of four also shared kind words for Williams' fiancé Alexis Ohanian.

But then his coaching side came out, hinting at a very soon return to the court for the 23-time Grand Slam champion.

Mouratoglous has spoken candidly about the American returning in time for the Australian Open, which is just three-and-a-half months away.

“She Williams] tells me you have to find a hitting partner for me in September when I come back,” [Mouratoglou told USA Today. “I said, ‘You are having the baby in September, you can find just someone to hand feed you balls.’ She said to me, ‘Don’t underestimate me.’ This is Serena.”

“The goal is to be ready for the Australian Open and then we’ll see,” added Mouratoglou. “If she’s ready, she’ll compete. If not, we’ll delay the comeback. I don’t think she should compete if she’s not really ready.”

In a July phone conference, Williams admitted she wouldn't know how she would feel until the baby actually arrived.

“Obviously, ideally I would love to come back. I plan on coming back. I plan on playing,” Williams said. “But you know, at the same time, this is a whole new chapter in my life. I'll have to see how that is and how it goes.”
