The last Grand Slam of the season is here. But first, a quick look back in this week's Doubles Take, plus a US Open announcement of our own.

THE ICING ON THE CAKE

At the Winston-Salem Open, the veteran pairing of Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau captured their third title of the season. The 2015 Wimbledon champions posted a straight-sets win over Julio Peralta and Horacio Zeballos, this year's victors in Houston.

Finals day was a very special one for Rojer: Aside from coming away with a title, it was also his birthday. He becomes the latest member of the ATP's "Birthday Bunch," joining Rajeev Ram, Ryan Harrison and Brian Baker as players who've captured doubles titles this year on their special day.

RECAPTURING THAT WINNING FEELING

Since their surprise victory in Miami a few months ago, Gabriela Dabrowski and Yifan Xu had been unable to replicate that success, until now.

The Canadian-Chinese pairing beat Australia's dynamic duo of Ashliegh Barty and Casey Dellacqua in the final of the Connecticut Open in New Haven for their first victory since Miami. The teams split the first two sets of the final before Dabrowski and Xu prevailed in a match tiebreak.
