Alexander ‘Sasha’ Bublik burst onto the scene as a 19-year-old earlier this year when he qualified for the Australian Open and then beat No. 16-seeded Lucas Pouille in four sets.

Now Bublik, who has worked his way from No. 205 at the beginning of the season to his current ranking of No. 125, is proving to be a talented shotmaker, and some of the sport’s flashiest players have taken notice.

But more importantly, the 20-year-old is moving his way up the rankings, and will break his career-high ranking of No. 122 on Monday with his solid run so far this week in Aptos.
