Roger Federer has defied age in a triumphant return to form this season, winning five titles (including two Grand Slams). The eight-time Wimbledon champion continues to go against time, turning 36 on Tuesday while in Montreal for the first time since 2011.

Of course, birthday wishes came pouring in from pretty much everywhere and everyone.

Rafael Nadal led the birthday wish cacophony by starting off a tribute to his friend and rival: "Man, you are getting old; stop winning, leave something for the young ones."

Players from Grigor Dimitrov to Dominic Thiem sent their best wishes to the Swiss.

Even Coldplay gave Federer a shoutout while he was in the audience for a concert:

Federer will get right to work in Montreal, taking on Canadian Peter Polansky in his opener.
