Basking in the California sunshine, top Americans CoCo Vandeweghe and Madison Keys interviewed each other on some hard-hitting topics.

"Do you go to the beach all the time?" Keys asked.

"Yes, because I live in southern California where the beaches are better," San Diego's Vandeweghe answered.

Keys, a Florida resident, then made a great counterpoint, claiming (quite accurately) that Florida oceans are much warmer than any California ones. She also called Vandeweghe out about her claim that she can surf.

While Vandeweghe's surf skills may be better suited for bodyboarding, she has actually dived with both sharks and giant stingrays.

The two friends would face off in the Stanford final by week's end, with Keys coming out on top, 7-6 (4), 6-4 for her third career WTA title.
