Career Best US Open Performance: Second round, 2015, '16

2017 High: Although Davis has the speed and stature to succeed clay, she made her biggest move on hard courts in the first quarter of the year, winning her first WTA title in Auckland. In addition, she posted an impressive 7-6 (1), 6-1 victory over Agnieszka Radwanska in Eastbourne, on grass.

2017 Low: After a first-round loss at Wimbledon to Varvara Lepchenko, Davis came into the U.S. hard-court swing as the defending finalist in Washington. But she bowed out in the first round to world No. 121-ranked Aryna Sabalenka.

Social Media Moment: Apparently Davis is a big fan of the new Wonder Woman film, calling it “one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.” She shared a few of her action moves with her followers; perhaps it's a prelude to a celebration we'll see at the Open:

US Open Outlook: In front of home crowds, Davis will likely feel a sense of renewal with fan support. She may be on the smaller side, but she's at her best when she can hold the baseline and take chances with big-swinging forehands. She’s a fun player to watch live; fans will appreciate her energy and strength to compete against bigger players.
