As has been reported, Venus Williams was involved in a fatal car crash on June 9 in Palm Beach Gardens. The 37-year-old was initially found at fault for the accident that caused the later death of 78-year-old Jerome Barson. Barson's wife Linda was driving the car and was also injured.

And now, weeks later, footage from the police officer's body camera has been released, showing what happened minutes after the three vehicles were part of the collision. Williams describes what happened and is told: "I will say that you're at fault in this crash, but I'm not citing you for the crash."

Williams was soon absolved of blame when footage of the crash was investigated, showing she had a green light when she entered the intersection. The Barson estate still filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Williams.

Palm Beach Gardens police say no fault has been assigned and the investigation is still open.

It's a terrible situation to be in, as anyone who's been involved in any sort of traffic incident would know. The 37-year-old Williams has handled herself well in the ensuing weeks, expressing her condolences to the family and competing so well on court she reached the Wimbledon final.
