I've just had an awesome training week in Los Angeles and I'm super excited about how my body and tennis game are feeling going into my next phase of competition. This was my heaviest week of cross training since coming back from injury, and it felt good to really get after it again. Pilates, interval running, sand dunes, weight lifting and beach sprints were all a part of a tiring but productive seven days. Now, with a week to go before the US Open Series, I will shift my focus away from the gym and onto the tennis court.

Despite fewer hours than normal on court while I've been pushing it in the gym, I am hitting the ball very well. My mind and body have had time to recover from the grind of 14 ITF Pro Circuit matches in three weeks, and now I am feeling strong and confident.

I'm looking forward to jumping back into point play this week and seeing if I can translate everything we've been working on to competitive situations.

I will leave Wednesday for the Bay Area and make a quick pit stop in Ojai, where the New Balance National Championships are taking place. I have yet to attend one of these events, but I've heard only great things, so I'm looking forward to checking it out and to talking to our next generation of collegiate and professional players.

Then, Stanford. I am beyond excited to get back to the Farm and see my favorite sports fans on earth! With the help of some hard training and a bit of luck, I hope to put on a good show.
