A peculiarly scorching sun had its way with the Wimbledon grass over this fortnight. But the sun also sets. Here, our ongoing roundup of passing shots from SW19, a curated much-ado-about-everything – if a bit less manicured than the Wimble-lawns themselves.

Sure, singles remains the sexy side of the sport, and Wimbledon winners Garbine Muguruza and Roger Federer will more than get their due in this countdown. Still, scintillating tennis takes quite a few forms – from doubles to mixed dubs, juniors to wheelchairs. It's quite time to salute the full lineup of winners from these Championships.

For the wheelchair set, this was a fantastic major event. Amazing points gave way to champions of the sport such as Esther Vergeer, Gabriela Sabatini and Bruno Soares saluting those perched for their own greatness.

In mixed doubles, Martina Hingis and Jamie Murray carried the final day, striking the last ball and topping 2016 mixed-dubs champs Heather Watson and Henri Kontinen for the title.

Hingis revealed that she has had to ask Murray the Elder to play with her in the first place – that is, before they finished in first place. She then cheered their partnership on Twitter and, in a post-championship surprise, nearly thrust her title-in-law Judy Murray into the hospital.

In men's and women's doubles, the championship match outcomes could not have been more disparate. Indeed, perhaps they never have been in major finals. Let's get one out of the way quickly: the 6-0, 6-0 drubbing that Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova, well acquainted with the moment and with each other, gave to Monica Niculescu and Chan Hao-ching, playing in just their second event together but finding their way to the round of 2.

Vesnina and Makarova shimmered again at the Wimbledon Champions' Ball, opting for different looks and different brands, as with their on-court apparel, and yet looking entirely like a grade-A tandem:

With the 55-minute women's dubs final out of the way here, let's talk about that men's doubles championship in London. Sure to go down as one of the best major dubs finals of this decade, if not one of the very best dubs matches of this decade, the match was noticed by the likes of team-sports stars such as Bryce Harper of Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals:

After four hours and 40-plus minutes, Marcelo Melo and Lukasz Kubot had defeated Mate Pavic and Oliver Marach to claim the title in an insta-classic.

Their efforts were noticed by fans and fellow players alike, with Kubot's countrywoman, Agnieszka Radwanska, sending him on Twitter:

It's always great to see players leave it all on the court, quite literally. Full (body) stop.
