Review: Plenty to be excited about in TopSpin 2K25, which successfully recreates the joy (and frustration) of tennis

Wimbledon put it best with that illustrative video. One year ago, Roger Federer took to Centre Court against Milos Raonic for the semifinals. Despite knee surgery and sore back hindering his season, Federer looked more than capable of winning his 17th Grand Slam. Instead, he tumbled, literally, and lost a heartbreaking 6-3, 6-7 (3), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 marathon to the Canadian.

Fast forward 12 months, and back on Centre Court (this time for the quarterfinals), Federer calmly dispatched Raonic in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (4), in the pursuit of his second major of 2017.

Federer is now the even-more obvious favorite for a record 19th Grand Slam title. He takes on Tomas Berdych next, who benefitted from an injured Novak Djokovic retiring in the second set. The top half of the draw will see Marin Cilic take on first-time major semifinalist Sam Querrey.

"This year, I'm just a normal tennis player again, where I can focus on tactics again," Federer said. "I think that's the difference."

Normal? His opponents this fortnight would disagree. The 35-year-old has yet to drop a set.
