In Halle, Benoit Paire had a meltdown in his opening round against Florian Meyer. After just two games in the first set, the Frenchman mishit a ball on break point, and quickly smashed his racquet—even slapping the net with it.

That set off a chain of events as the umpire gave him a point and then a game penalty after Paire smashed a ball into the stands, twice. It was not exactly the most sportsmanlike behavior from the 28-year-old.

It's no surprise that Paire went on to lose the match 6-0, 6-4.

This isn't the first time this year that Paire lost his cool. In Rome, the world No. 44 smashed racquet and threw some curses around in his win over Nicolas Mahut. At least in that case, he was upset over a controversial crossing-the-net call:

There's never a dull—and rarely a calm—moment when it comes to Paire.
