Tennis has been associated with royalty since its inception: What other sport has a Royal Box for the Duke and Duchess to sit at? The trend continued when Roger Federer and his wife Mirka attended the wedding of Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, yesterday.

The tennis couple looked like royalty themselves as they strutted down a walkway past fans and press for the ceremony.

However, they were there for their friend, not to speak to press and ignored them for the most part.

Federer has taken the clay season off since winning the Miami Open in April, and is choosing not to play the French Open this year.
