In Rome, two days after stunning world No. 1 Andy Murray, Fabio Fognini ran out of gas against 20-year-old Alexander Zverev in the fourth round. The 6-3, 6-3 win in Zverev's favor was filled with plenty of drama, as is expected every time the vocal Italian steps on court.

Fognini should still be happy with his week since his win over Murray was his first career victory over a world No. 1.

He's also going to have to turn his attention quickly to his wife Flavia Pennetta, who is due to give birth at any moment.
Zverev has now advanced to three ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinals this season.
