On Tuesday, wild card entry Marius Copil faced off against world No. 1 Andy Murray on Monolo Santana stadium. To make the second-round encounter even more special, tournament director Santana himself was in the audience. And somehow, out of all the people in the crowd, Copil managed to hit Santana with an overhead.

Santana was unhurt, obviously, and Murray went on to win the match, 6-4, 6-3.

Madrid will still be a positive memory for Copil as the 26-year-old will crack the  Top 100 for the first time next week when he rises to No. 90.

Murray acknowledged the accomplishment personally in a nice moment at the net after the match.
