Yanina Wickmayer took to Instagram for an emotional post about her complex relationship with tennis, making some wonder if the German was retiring.

It probably had something to do with her use of the past tense.

"I have suffered for hours during practice and fought a lot of battles on you. I have won some and I have lost some, but most of all you have [taught] me a lot of lessons," she wrote.

Chalk it up to English not being her first language because the 27-year-old isn't done yet.

Wickmayer has been on the tour since 2004, winning five WTA titles and reaching as high as No. 12 in 2010. She burst into the spotlight by reaching the US Open semifinals as a 19-year-old in 2009.

But lately, the world No. 73 has struggled to put together wins, losing her last four matches including a first-round contest at an $100,000 ITF Pro Circuit tournament in France this week.
