Stepping out to show off her baby bump at a public event for the first time, Serena Williams chose the Met Gala.

Looking resplendent in emerald green, the pregnant WTA No. 1 wore Versace for her grand appearance. Her striking gown featured embellished details down one side of it and tied at the wrist, allowing her to conveniently place a free hand on that growing midsection, set to bring baby joy to her and fiancé Alex Ohanian (who joined her on the red carpet) this fall.

None other than fellow GOAT Roger Federer joined her at the party. Fed, GQ magazine's reigning Most Stylish Man, sported a Gucci tuxedo jacket replete with crystal-studded cobra on its back.

So understated, these two. And that's just what we all want from the Met Gala: bona fide fashion moments.

In a sea of textiles, one has to find a way to stand out in a crowd of famous types. Federer and Serena did exactly that—will a little help from a snake and perhaps the best accessory of all, a baby on the way.
