That's just one example of Maria Sharapova shutting down a question from a reporter in Stuttgart. After 15 long months away, reporters understandably had a lot of questions. The Daily Mail got dismissed on Friday after Sharapova's quarterfinal win over Kristina Mladenovic.

In her comeback this week, Sharapova has delivered a blend of awkward, curt moments sandwiched between her normal, lengthy answers.

On Wednesday, after she won her first match back over Roberta Vinci, Sharapova let out a laugh at The Sun's presence in Stuttgart.

The reporter took that burn in stride.

Not all of the most viral-friendly answers have been shut downs. When asked about whether she'd be prepared to compete in the qualifying of a major, Sharapova came up with this:

She'll officially find out her Roland Garros fate on May 16.

On Thursday, Sharapova completely brushed off a question on Eugenie Bouchard's saying that cheaters shouldn't be allowed to compete again.

The former No. 1 faces Kristina Mladenovic in the semifinals in her first "grudge match" (last year, the Frenchwoman questioned Sharapova's ethics). But that part of the showdown is not bothering Sharapova.

"I've already said everything I have to say about the ITF," "That information is between myself, the WTA and the orthopedic doctor that I am working with now," and "Next question please, thank you," have been some other abbreviated answers.

Of course, Sharapova has answered a ton of questions professionally in her usual eloquent manner, but these moments are the ones that may be most memorable, aside from her winning play on court.

She has now battled past three opponents (Vinci, Ekaterina Makarova and Anett Kontaveit), guaranteeing herself a ranking of at least No. 262.
