New mother Victoria Azarenka has expressed her happiness upon hearing Serena Williams’ pregnancy news. The Belarusian spoke to the Fed Cup as her country gets set to face Switzerland in the semifinals.

"I’m really, really happy for her. I think this is something that has nothing to do with us being competitors. And I’m so just happy from one woman to another woman. It’s honestly going to be the best thing that happened to her..." the 27-year-old said. "I hope she’s going to come back and play again because I'll miss her to death."

Azarenka gave birth to her son Leo in December, and is expecting to return to the WTA tour this summer at Stanford. The former No. 1 and two-time Australian Open champion will try to become just the fourth woman to win a major after having a child.

Williams is expecting to give birth in the fall and will be out for the remainder of 2017.
