As an intense match between Kyle Edmund and nine-time Monte Carlo champion Rafael Nadal pushed into the third set, some light-hearted fun flew onto the court—in the form of a local pigeon—to alleviate the pressure.

A bird wouldn't leave the court, despite being chased around by one of the ball boys, and even Nadal himself. The little friend just flew around in circles as if determined to get a great courtside view of the match.

The pigeon did fly off eventually to a new perch, and Nadal would pull through, 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 to reach the round of 16.
