The family that inks together, stays together.

Or something like that. In any event, Karolina Pliskova recently shared with Outside the Ball's Mayleen Ramey about her tattoos, including one on her arm and another on her outer thigh. They've been well documented in tennis media to date, and in this case, Pliskova dishes that everyone in her family—father, mother and fellow WTA-touring sister Kristyna—harbors a certain tattoo on their bodies.

Pliskova's tattoos are inspired by the Maori people of New Zealand, an indigenous group in that country, and she got her first one at age 15.

The Pliskovas certainly aren't alone among tennis stars in inking up themselves. As depicted in the Outside the Ball clip, the likes of Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Svetlana Kuznetsova famously feature tats. The same is true for Stan Wawrinka, Janko Tipsarevic and a multitude more of ATP and WTA players. The erstwhile Tennis Served Fresh blog dedicated an entire rubric to the "Tattoo Watch" in pro tennis.

As it turns out, yours truly is game to get a tennis-inspired tattoo soon. Got an idea as to what that could be? Drop me a line on Twitter.
