Andy Murray has had a very back-and-forth 2017.

An early exit from the Australian Open would put any player in a sour mental state, but the Brit pushed that away and came back to win Dubai. However, another shock exit from Indian Wells and now a withdrawal from the Miami Open with a right elbow injury has put the world No. 1's season into gray territory.

Tennis legend Andre Agassi spoke on Murray's decision to leave the tournament in an interview with *The Guardian*. He thinks his athleticism, and the creeping factor of age, will become a hindrance if he wants to win more Slams.

"He has so much athleticism he has a tendency to rely on that and make matches harder than they need to be. If you brought down his speed, matches might get easier because he’d have more conviction to go after [opponents]," Agassi said.

"Andy has skills that are rarely outmatched. I was never the best athlete and had to think strategically...He’s getting more assertive and that will help because long-term wear and tear is a factor.

The former No. 1 added that Murray would be "terribly disappointed" if he didn't win another major, or two, but "there’s no question he can win more."

The tournament issued a statement from Murray apologizing to fans. World No. 2 Novak Djokovic also pulled out with a right elbow injury.
