While the Davis Cup and Fed Cup is the premier event for battles between nations, the 10th anniversary of the BNP Paribas Showdown will pit the Americas against the World.

Since 2013, the event has joined hands with World Tennis Day to inspire the youth of today to play the sport and live an active life.

To promote the March 6 event, Nick Kyrgios, Jack Sock, Andy Roddick, Garbine Muguruza, Kei Nishikori, Juan Martin del Potro, Lleyton Hewitt, and Venus Williams took part in a Q&A at the JW Marriott Essex House in New York on Sunday.

Williams, whose clothing line EleVen is a sponsor of the event, was asked if her company will try to compete with other brands, such as Nike and Lulu Lemon.

Her answer was so Venus.

"I'm not trying to beat or compete with anyone else. EleVen is EleVen, that's what it is," she said.

The Showdown has been held at Madison Square Garden since it's inception, which is also home to the Knicks, one of Kyrgios's favorite teams. Thanks to his sometimes controversial love for basketball, the young star was asked if anyone "Will see some hoops from [him] tomorrow?"

"I actually went to see the Knicks play at MSG right before this and I got butterflies knowing that I will be playing in that same arena," he said. "I'm really looking forward to playing at MSG."

Madison Square Garden is also a special place for Roddick, the Americas captain, but for an entirely different reason.

"I've got great memories of that arena because it was one of the few times where I've beaten Roger [Federer]," he said, referring to the 2012 BNP Showdown where he defeated Federer, 7-5, 7-6 (7).

That win and his current role as captain may be getting to his head, however, as he made a sudden executive decision during the conference.

"I'm pretty terrified of facing [Hewitt] so my first action as captain will be to sub in Del Potro to play him," he said, jokingly.

Afterwards, Del Potro caught up with Roddick.

And Sock photobombed Nishikori while he was trying to do press for ESPN:
