John Isner was in no mood for good behavior in Acapulco on Monday night. The world No. 22 dropped his opening round to fellow American Steve Johnson, 6-4, 6-4. Along the way, Inser destroyed one of his racquets like it was no stronger than a twig.

Long labeled the top American male, the 31-year-old has been surpassed by No. 18-ranked Jack Sock. Johnson isn't far behind at No. 26.

Isner was the eighth seed at the ATP 500 event.
