In their first-round match at the Rio Open in Brazil, top seeds Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares showed they were willing to go up, down and all around to win a couple of points.

Facing Marcus Daniell and Marcelo Demoliner, Murray got this point into high gear early on with a lob return, then after some scrambling back and forth by him and Soares, he finished it off with a cross-court backhand.

It’s safe to say Murray was feeling the lob this night, as this point illustrates. Things went a little easier for last year’s No. 1 team on the next one.

After finish as the top team in 2016, Murray and Soares have gotten off to a slow start this season, even falling in the first round of the Australian Open.

They won two Grand Slam titles together last year (the Australian and US Open).
