With backhands like that, Caroline Wozniacki secured her spot in the Dubai quarterfinals over Kateryna Bondarenko. It wasn't easy, as the Dane had to battle through the 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory.

Wozniacki has been enjoying a couple of strong weeks, having reached the final of Doha last week.

Her conqueror in last week's final, Karolina Plisova has been knocked out of the Dubai running this week, opening up the bottom half of the draw.

Wozniacki, now ranked No. 15, is closing back in on the Top 10. She'll take on CiCi Bellis next, who beat Agnieszka Radwanska earlier on Wednesday for the first Top 10 win of her young career.
