Nike called in its heavyweight endorsers for a new clip simply titled "Equality" that indirectly addresses today's political and cultural climate stateside. The video, a minute-and-a-half in length, features Serena Williams, LeBron James, Megan Rapinoe, Kevin Durant, Victor Cruz, Gabby Douglas and Dalilah Muhammad.

The subtly spare, black-and-white clip finds narrator and actor Michael B. Jordan asking, "Is this the land history promised? ... The ball should bounce the same for everyone."

"My view is that sometimes we as a people, we give everyone equal opportunity on the court," Serena says, in part, in the behind-the-scenes clip. "Off the court, we might overlook people or say, oh, they don't deserve the same opportunity, oh, or they look different, oh, or they're not like me, when in actuality, we all are."

Here's the "Equality" piece's full text, as spoken by Jordan:

*Is this the land history promised?

This field of play.

Where the dream of fairness and mutual respect lives on.

Where you are defined by actions, not your looks and beliefs.

For too long these ideals have taken refuge inside these lines.

Equality should have no boundaries.

The bond between players should exist between people.

Opportunity should be indiscriminate.

Worth should outshine color.

The ball should bounce the same for everyone.

If we can be equals here, we can be equals everywhere.*

Nike has built an entire campaign around the centerpiece clip, marketing "Equality."
