Next week, Juan Martin Del Potro will begin his 2017 season in Delray Beach, with his opening round set for February 21. In preparations, the Argentine is down in Miami, practicing with none other than Gael Monfils.

Due to persistent wrist injuries and multiple surgeries, Del Potro has struggled to play an uninterrupted healthy season since 2013, when he finished at No. 5. The 28-year-old made a successful comeback last year, capturing silver in Rio, winning his 19th ATP title in Stockholm and leading Argentina to the Davis Cup title.

Citing fitness concerns, Del Potro chose to skip the Australian swing, but expect to see the world No. 36 competing hard in Delray. It's a fitting place to kick things off given Delray Beach is where Del Potro began his comeback in 2016, reaching the semifinals.
