Tennis superfan Lin-Manuel Miranda wasn't to be denied this week. On a couple levels, he had his way with the world, ultimately earning both an Oscar nomination and, as a viewer, a Roger Federer match win.

In the wake of his Academy Award nom for a song written and performed for the Moana soundtrack, it's great to see the Hamilton creator and original-cast star giddy with excitement over a Federer showing. This time, tape delay was okay.

Miranda has since enjoyed more Federer victories, namely his five-set epic over Stan Wawrinka in the semifinals.

He may end up conflicted if Rafael Nadal ends up setting up a dream final by getting past Grigor Dimitrov on Friday.
