Two of the game’s greats could be coming together for a cause that has an impact on many.

Last night, former world No. 4 James Blake, who ran the New York City Marathon in 2015, sent out a tweet asking if anyone would like to run the 2017 edition on November 5 in the name of the James Blake Foundation, in an effort to raise money for cancer research.

Blake was greeted with an enthusiastic response, including one from a certain former world No. 2.

Norman, a 2000 French Open finalist, is currently quite busy being Stan Wawrinka’s coach, but he was renowned for his work ethic and fitness during his playing days. Blake acknowledged Norman's response with the respect it deserves.

The foundation is an official charity partner of the TCS New York City Marathon and will be putting together a team of 25 runners. Funds raised will go toward the Thomas Blake Sr. Research Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in honor of Blake’s father, who passed away in 2004.
