The Baseline Top 10: Lit Hopman Cup moments

There are tournaments, there are team competitions, and then there’s the 2017 edition of the long-running Hopman Cup, which can best be summed up in one word:

Lit.

Or in layman’s terms, simply outrageous.

On-court and off, the players at the co-ed event—as well as the fans—have been having more fun than you’d find at your regular tour stop. It’s been the perfect segue from offseason to competition mode with one elder statesman in particular seemingly in the middle of it all.

Here are 10 moments that capture the spirit of this year’s event.

Roger Federer decided this was going to mark his return to tennis after he shut it down after Wimbledon last year to recover from injury. His first practicepacked the house.

The Hopman Cup wrapped up on Saturday with France beating the United States, 2-1.
