We know she's quieter than her sister, but it appears Venus Williams prefers to stay off the grid in more ways than one.

The often-bawdy celeb-chef Gordon Ramsay may have spoken to Formula One racing reporter Martin Brundle on the sidelines ahead of Lewis Hamilton's big F1 victory last weekend at the United States Grand Prix, but Williams wasn't about to have Brundle's microphone in her face. Come for the weirdness, stay for the Sky Sports presenter's pirouetting out of the situation:

Now it's anyone's guess why a famous person snubs an interviewer in a real-time setting. Williams might have had every reason to do so in the moment. So maybe the optics aren't great for her, but rest assured that Brundle will confirm any Q&A with a Williams before trying again. In its own way, though, that awkward moment did provide a shard of good TV.

Apart from that, Williams relished her weekend escapade in Austin, Texas, donning a so-official headset; hobnobbing around the track with the likes of Federer-superfan Lindsey Vonn, Christoph Waltz, Gerard Butler and Ramsey; and "suffering" a champagne spray in the wake of Mercedes driver Hamilton's victory.

On or off the court, 'tis good to be an inhabitant of the Haus of Williams.
