Mikael Ymer may be the lesser-known younger Ymer brother, but the 18-year-old made a big splash of his own in Stockholm when he upset Fernando Verdasco in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1 for his first ATP Tour win.

In the next round, it looked like the Swede was going to pull out another big win, this time against Ivo Karlovic, but he was outlasted, 6-4, 4-6, 4-6.

Karlovic hasn't lost in Stockholm in a long time...

Karlovic has actually only played Stockholm twice before, losing in the first round in 2003 and winning the title in 2007.

But Ymer still gave the 37-year-old some credit.

Perhaps Ymer needed extra time to recover (or prepare) because the day before his match against the world No. 21 he tweeted this:

Seemingly a laid-back guy, the No. 549-ranked Ymer is one of the freshest faces on the tour, having mostly played on the Challenger circuit, with Stockholm being just his fourth ATP Tour tournament.

With his win over Verdasco (who happens to be a former world No. 7), Ymer showed he has the talent and shot-making skills to be a contender on the tour.

His older brother Elias can help lead the way, having already started making big moves (he's ranked No. 161). In Stockholm, Elias Ymer lost in the first round, but teamed up with Mikail in doubles, where they've advanced to the semifinals.
