Jack Sock may have lost the war on Friday in Shanghai, but he won a really cool battle. The 24-year-old was facing Gilles Simon in his first-ever ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinal. The tweener lob he pulled off in the first set (the set he won, of course) is one for the ages.

Surviving the theatrics, Simon advanced to the semifinal with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) win. The loss will sting for Sock, but at least he has achieved a new career milestone (and memorable hot shot).
