Sometimes you're honored in your home country for fantastic achievements on the court of play. And sometimes you accidentally get wet doing it. Don't pity Juan Martin del Potro, though, as he took it all in stride (a long, loping stride) in Argentina

The confessed Boca fanatic was hailed by the Bombonera crowd prior to Sunday's game against Quilmes, although a ground-keeping faux pas put a dampener on the presentation.

That's some birthday-week treatment for the 28-year-old Olympic singles silver medalist, more recently a Davis Cup hero, vanquishing Andy Murray to take his team to the Davis Cup final late this year against Croatia.

But you know Delpo played off that amusing incident with the charming, even disarming smile he always wields as formidably as his forehand.
