US Open Takeaway #15: Pharell visits with the Stans

Pharrell met up separately with a pair of Stans, Wawrinka and Smith, respectively. One sports an iconic shoe; the other boasts a T-shirt he should never wear again. You can guess who's whom here.

Continuing with the theme, celebrities on hand, from mid-event to finals weekend, also included Ivanka Trump and Lin-Manuel Miranda, among other luminaries such as Jon Hamm, Ben Stiller, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Grant, Vanessa Williams, Anna Wintour and so many more.

Even so, compare that to, you know, Wimbledon's own lineup of famous types. Sure, David and Victoria Beckham, Bradley Cooper, Hugh Grant (again) and more. Perhaps there's no disputing the roster of not-so-usual suspects at the All England Club. Or perhaps there's no "talent gap" at all. Still, a Brit will tell you they have it better across the pond.

But maybe they're right, those stuck-up prigs. After all, the Phil Collins tie-in to this major event was, shall we say, awkward at best.
