Just when you thought you had seen everything from Gael Monfils, he does something like try to tie his shoes in the middle of a point.

The odd move didn't seem to matter though as the Frenchman prevailed over Marcos Baghdatis, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the US Open quarterfinals.

The behavior baffled everyone watching, and even Monfils himself.

"To be honest, I have no idea what happened," he said. "Sometimes those points don't mean anything for me. Just—I don't know. I just lose it."

You never know what's going to happen next when it comes to Monfils. The No. 10 seed will take on the winner of Rafael Nadal and Louis Pouille in the quarterfinals.
