Novak Djokovic has officially played just 31 minutes to win his last two US Open rounds, and no, it's not because he's a super human (no one is that good). On Friday afternoon, Mikhail Youzhny retired after just six games, trailing 2-4. The Russian had his upper leg taped up and back worked on in the short third-round contest.

Having never been in this situation at a tournament before, Djokovic said he wasn’t sure how the lack of match play will affect him.

A disgruntled Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd got a consolation prize though. Djokovic stuck around to get a much-needed practice session in.

Six games is progress for the world No. 1 though. He didn’t even get to take to the court for his second-round match against Jiri Vesely (who withdrew with an arm injury).

In any case, next up for the top seed is the winner of John Isner and Kyle Edmund.
