Monfils takes full advantage of rainy day in New York

The Frenchman celebrated his 30th birthday by playing in the rain

Gael Monfils is celebrating both his 30th birthday and the rain in New York City. He played a little game of "Get the Ball Closer to the Line" with some friends, and even smashed a few practice shots around.

On Wednesday, the 10th seed advanced to the third round after a hot-shot filled win over Jan Satral.

While Andy Murray was playing under the Arthur Ashe Stadium roof, ESPN panned over to the barren practice courts to watch Monfils. It's hard to keep your eyes off the talented Frenchman's antics, even in the pouring rain.

The new roof had its work cut out for itself on a rainy Thursday, but Monfils didn't seem bothered by a wet workout.
