On Friday in New York, the San Diego Aviators' Ryan Harrison clinched the Mylan World TeamTennis title over the Orange County Breakers. He won in extended play against Denis Novikov to take the match, 25-14.

Harrison was joined by teammates Darija Jurak, Shelby Rogers and Raven Klaasen to capture the first title in Aviators history.

Harrison won both his singles and doubles matches after winning his third-round qualifying match at the US Open earlier on Friday. He beat Henri Laaksonen 6-3, 6-2 to book his main-draw spot before heading to The West Side Tennis Club for the Mylan WTT finals.

Fittingly, Harrison was the season's male MVP award winner, and proved his worth tenfold.

Harrison will play his first-round match against France's Adrian Mannarino. His younger brother Christian also qualified for the US Open main draw after years of dealing with injuries (and a staggering seven surgeries).
