The New York Empire notched its first team win in franchise history on Wednesday night in Forest Hills, N.Y. by topping the Springfield Lasers, 19-15. Needless to say, they were pretty excited:

Local star Noah Rubin made his season debut, teaming with Neal Skupski to win the men's doubles set, before falling to Benjamin Becker in a tiebreaker.

Christina McHale suffered her second-straight home court shutout by losing to Pauline Parmentier, 5-0. But she recovered to win the women's doubles with Maria Irigoyen, before Irigoyen and Skupski sealed the win for New York by beating Michaella Krajicek and Jean Anderson.
