Nick Kyrgios is unquestionably one of the most entertaining players in tennis, and he put on a show at the All England Club on Tuesday.

Playing wildcard Radek Stepanek in his first-round match at Wimbledon, the young Australian hit one of the best shots of the day—and the tournament, so far.

In the opening game of the third set, with the 21-year-old up two sets to love, Kyrgios hit a brilliant tweener that fired up the London crowd.

It wasn’t your traditional tweener, however, this shot was a bit unique. With Stepanek close to the net, Kyrgios—standing behind the baseline—casually lifted his right leg and lobbed a beauty over his opponent’s head. The ball just caught the line for a winner.

The 37-year-old Stepanek would go on to take the third set in a thrilling tiebreaker, but Kyrgios finished off the veteran in the fourth for a 6-4, 6-3, 6-7 (9), 6-1 victory.

The shot brought to mind Kyrgios’ tweener drop shot against Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon two years ago. Kyrgios shocked the 14-time Grand Slam champion in that fourth-round match, 7-6 (5), 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-3.

Kyrgios will play Dustin Brown—another showman with a penchant for hot shots—in the second round in what should be a wildly entertaining match.
