Marcos Baghdatis is off to a promising start at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany.

The Cypriot upset Tomas Berdych, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4), in the first round and then gutted out a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (8) victory over wild card Dustin Brown in the second round on Wednesday.

But it wasn’t the pair of wins that caused the 30-year-old to laugh uncontrollably.

The veteran got an extreme case of the giggles when asked to name the last movie that made him cry, and we’re not just talking a couple of chuckles. We’re talking schoolgirl-like, teary-eyed laughter.

“I cry sometime at ‘X Factor,’” Baghdatis said after taking a few seconds to give it some thought. “Or ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’” (Both of those are reality competition shows, not movies, mind you.)

The former Australian Open runner-up then broke down again, exploding with laughter as his entire face lit up.

“It’s pretty hot in here,” the world No. 42 said, fanning himself down with his hands.

Baghdatis will have to get his game face back on ahead of his third-round match. He takes on rising teenager Alexander Zverev for a spot in the quarterfinals
