To put it mildly, Caroline Wozniacki is having a rough week. First, her comeback from an ankle injury was cut short in Nottingham with a three-set loss to Annett Kontaveit in the second round.

Then, she was harassed to such a degree online that she took to Instagram to call out a web bully.

Last but certainly not least, the International Tennis Federation ruled Wozniacki ineligible to play in this summer’s Rio Olympics.

In February, the Danish Olympic committee selected Wozniacki to be the country's flag bearer:

The ITF’s criteria required players to compete in two Fed Cup ties during the Olympic qualifying period. Wozniacki rolled her ankle nine days before Denmark played against Bosnia and Herzegovina, a tie that would have ensured Wozniacki’s Olympic eligibility, and thus failed to meet the criteria.

The former No. 1 is appealing the decision, which will be decided on June 30. Wozniacki is ranked No. 34; the next highest-ranked Dane is Karen Barrtiza at No. 420.

After all this, Wozniacki deserved a big hug—and thankfully, she got one:
