All this time everyone thought Italy was best known for pizza and pasta. But don't forget about its bagels. On Thursday at the Rome Masters, Novak Djokovic lost a 6-0 set to Thomaz Bellucci before recovering to win the next two sets, while David Goffin thrashed No. 8 seed Tomas Berdych, 6-0, 6-0, in just 50 minutes.

Yes, that's right, a Top 10 player was double-bageled in a Masters 1000 tournament. The last time a Top 10 player was double-bageled was when Roger Federer beat Gaston Gaudio in 2005 at the ATP World Tour Finals. Berdych has never lost a match this way during his lengthy 14-year career, and he had beaten the Belgian in their only two previous meetings.

The 6'5", big-serving Czech approached this ignominious feat in 2014, when he trailed Djokovic 6-0, 5-0 in Beijing, but he saved face by winning two games. Another recent close call was at the 2014 ATP World Tour Finals, when Roger Federer annihilated Andy Murray, 6-0, 6-1.

Naturally, after No. 13-ranked Goffin completed his slaughter in Rome, Twitter went mad for bagels:

As for Djokovic, the last time he lost a set 6-0 was nearly four years ago, at the Cincinnati Masters to Federer. The Serb plays Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals, while Goffin will take on Andy Murray.
